Who is responsible
PHAME operates this app and is the data controller for the personal data described below, under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). You may complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission at any time.
1. What we collect
Account details (name, phone number, email, profile photo), verification documents you upload, trip and delivery records, pickup and drop-off locations, in-app messages, ratings, and technical data such as device type and app version.
2. Why we use it
To match you with nearby riders, calculate fares, show live trip progress, keep trips safe, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Location data
Your location is used while you are requesting or on a trip so riders can find you and routes can be drawn. You can turn location access off in your device settings, but the app cannot book trips without it.
4. Who we share with
Only what is necessary: the rider assigned to your trip sees your first name, pickup and drop-off points and phone contact via the in-app call. Payment processing uses Paystack, SMS verification uses Arkesel, and maps use Google Maps. We share data with law enforcement when legally required or where there is a credible safety risk.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Your choices
In Profile → Account settings you can change your password and phone number, control notification and privacy preferences, download a copy of your data, or request that your account be deleted.
6. Retention
Trip and payment records are kept for as long as needed for accounting, safety and legal purposes. Verification documents are removed once they are no longer required, or when your account is deleted.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sessions expire automatically, and inactive admin sessions are terminated. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and report anything suspicious.
8. Children
PHAME is not intended for anyone under 18.
9. Contact
For privacy questions or data requests, use Report an issue in the app.
